About the Author

Cassandra Ward is an esteemed leader in higher education with a deep commitment to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), which play a vital role in serving students from underserved communities.
After earning her doctorate, Cassandra’s professional journey led her to the Metropolitan Public School System, where she served as a substitute teacher for grades K3 through 4.
Throughout her time teaching at various schools, one particular school touched her heart profoundly, often moving her to tears. She found herself praying and interceding silently throughout each day for the students, an experience that inspired her to make a lasting impact on the lives of children during their early formative years.
This powerful experience gave birth to the idea for a book, titled Yes Ma'am, No Ma'am, Thank You and Please. The title stayed with her for years, gradually shaping into something more significant.
After the birth of her granddaughter, Charlie Rose, the vision for the book became even clearer. Inspired by her granddaughter, Charlie Rose became the central figure of the book, and from there, the Charlie Rose Learns series was born.
Finally, Cassandra’s vision came to life, and her heartwarming story is now available to inspire young readers everywhere.
